Backsplashes are going to be put in by hand. This is because each piece of glass need to be put in manually. This does increase the overall cost of the project. If you are short on cash, this might not be the best option that you can use. Also you will need to find someone that is reliable that does good work. Before starting a job, make sure the professional shows you some pictures of examples of work from the past. Alternatively, you can install the glass yourself if you know how which can make the cost of the project a bit lower.
